Celebrating Mother’s Day is a celebration of existence, life in Christ, physical life, eternal life, and freewill to choose life. It is a special day to focus on fulfilling the Biblical admonition to honor your mother and motherhood, to rally for the Biblical worldview, and to honor God.
How To Make Your Mother Smile
I know what made my mother happy, and I know what will make your mother happy. Let her know you love her. That will make her smile. Proverbs 23:24–25 says,
“The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise [child] shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.”
A righteous and wise child is born-again and is dedicated to doing God’s will. In other words, this is a child who is saved and sanctified. To be saved means the child believes that the promise of Jesus is the only way to receive eternal life and to be sanctified means the child believes that living God’s way is the best way.
The greatest gift a mother can receive from her children is to know that they are saved and serving God. A mother’s mind is put at ease, and she is relieved of worry knowing that her child is secure forever in peace with God.
Another benefit of having saved and sanctified children is that they let their parents know how much they love them. Every mother, lost or saved, wants to know their child loves them. It feels so good to know that the child you love so much loves and appreciates you. Does your mother know that you love her?
An Absurd Call To Protest Mother’s Day
Such love and tranquility seem so natural and good. Yet we live at a time in history when Satan’s ugly head is rising again to protest motherhood, to protest a mother’s love, and to shame women who have chosen to be mothers.
I just want to take a moment to address the current issue of motherhood in our nation. It is the elephant in the room. By addressing the issue, we are witnessing right now in our nation, our lovely mothers here will be honored so much more. They are a stark contrast to those in protest.
A national protest against motherhood has been called for. Women are going on strike in protest motherhood. The headlines in news articles say,
“Week-long ‘Mother’s Day Strike’ set to protest the overturn of Roe.”
I feel compelled to read the headline because the idea of protesting Motherhood and Mother’s Day is so shocking and absurd, it is unbelievable. I struggle believing that such a thing is occurring even though I am reading the headline.
Ironically, the protestors are protesting their own mothers and their own existence. And further, they are children protesting the existence of other children. They are rallying to deny other children the right to exist. We are living in a world that has gone mad.
The Context of Spiritual Warfare
The Bible explains the reason for this madness and reminds us we live in a world engaged in spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:12 says,
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].”
To protest motherhood is much more insidious and a part of a much larger agenda than most realize. This Mother’s Day protest highlights the clash between warring worldviews. We are witnessing a world war battle for control over how we live and whether we live. It is a battle to control not just physical life but spiritual life. It is a battle to legitimize and then legislate Satan’s agenda to force all citizens to embrace his evil agenda. This is so diabolical; it has Satan’s fingerprints all over it.
This protest comes on the heels of an insidious pandemic of fear and irrationality that has infected the minds of the entire population to embrace dishonest means rather than virtuous means to achieve their ends. The poison of agenda-driven politics has infected both the right and the left sides of our culture. I shake my head in dismay at the lies purported by those I align with politically. I expect such tactics from the other side.
It is important to hold to the conviction that being right does not justify lying to persuade others. Yet that is what is happening today. Such tactics keep people ignorant and unable to make conclusions and choices with understanding and wisdom. When we fail to recognize deception or we accept dishonest means because the goal is right, we are slipping down the slope of deception into Satan’s cesspool of corruption and evil.
I am bringing this up to make the point that this Mother’s Day protest is occurring in the context of a much larger protest and agenda. This Mother’s Day protest is but one link in a chain that is wrapping around the human population to bring us all into bondage. This protest is in a sense one pustule popping up in a body that is already suffering from a critical disease.
A Battle Against God
One lady was quoted in a news article explaining her reason for being involved in the protest. “I am sick and tired of religious beliefs.” This quote reveals the true context of the Mother’s Day strike. It is ultimately a protest against God, against the Biblical worldview, and against the salvation of souls. This is the true context of the protest. This quote brings to light the real agenda behind this protest. This protest is just one part of a much larger on-going protest and agenda.
In the spiritual warfare, Satan’s agenda is to rob humanity of the seed that would give them eternal life and abundant life. Romans 1:16 explains,
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
The Gospel seed is the power of God to save souls.
The god of this world, Satan (the dragon, that old serpent the Devil), is doing everything he can to prevent the Gospel from being spread to the world. Second Corinthians 4:3-4 says,
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Satan wants to prevent life. He wants everyone to die in their sins and to be eternally condemned. His tactic is to blind the world with lies so that truth will be hidden. In a world buried in lies, rational thought is unrecognized, and truth is lost.
The protest that has been called for today across our nation is a protest for the right to kill. The right to choose to kill others. It is a rally cry for death to those who oppose them. It is a rally cry for the right to deny others the choice to live. It is a rally to prevent life and to take away life. It is a rally cry to legalize committing the most insidious, cruel, and heartless crime of all, the slaughtering of helpless, defenseless, and innocent, babies in the womb. This is the diabolical agenda of Satan. Where there is sin and Satan, there is death, sorrow, and callous, heartless cruelty.
Celebrating Motherhood And Life
But those of us with a Biblical worldview celebrate life. A celebration of motherhood is a celebration of God creating life. It is a celebration of a relationship with our Creator and of the One who gives life. Honoring motherhood is praise to God and a celebration of life.
It is, in part, a much-deserved honoring of mothers and a fulfillment of the Biblical admonition to honor thy mother. It is a celebration of children, a celebration of ourselves, our existence, and our lives.
God bless all our women who have chosen to be mothers and have chosen life for their children. This is our answer to those who oppose God. And we must make our voices heard by the means of speaking truth and upholding virtue.
